Moving into the holiday season energies are heightened on all front. It is both the most wonderful time of the year, and the most stressful. A testing time to remain patient, loving, abundant - and deal with your family and the queues in Sainsbury's!
This is definitely the month to take a bit of extra time for you. To centre and commune with spirit, however that might look for you. Whether you are religious and follow a doctrine, have a faithfueled outlook and practices, or like me, you're a spiritual freeloader working with whatever resonates, you need time to commune with your source.
Whatever the diagnosis, the prescription is prayer.
'But... how do you pray?'
I get this question a lot, especially from those who have recently opened themselves to the concept of a spiritual path. Each religion has it's on way, ceremony and system for prayer. Each beautiful to experience and witness. It's true that in our collective, in coming together in congregation our prayers gain strength, this was the purpose of church and mass to begin with, but private prayers are equally important.
Whether you drop to your knees in daily ritual, chat to God on the bus, hug a tree or light a candle. There is no wrong way to pray. This is one option I use to 'cover all basis' for what I believe is important to me and my spiritual journey.
When I pray, I literally P.R.A.Y.
What are you grateful for? This is your thank you! to source. What beautiful miracle, small joy, loving event or needed lesson did you receive today? Who are you grateful for? What act of kindness, glorious smile, warm inviting shoulders are you grateful for?
Forgiveness. What not so awesome choices did you make? What thoughts or actions do you need to forgive? Forgive yourself, forgive others. Promise to do better, be better.
Manifest people! What do you want? For yourself and for others. What do you need help with? Nothing is too big or too small. "There is no order of difficulty in Miracles" - ACIM
Surrender. Surrender to God, Holy Spirit, Mother Gaia, The Universe. Understand and know you are supported and there is nothing that cannot be healed that is given to God.
And finish with 'Thy will be done.'
I hope this serves you.
TRIPPING OVER JOY
What is the difference
Between your experience of Existence
And that of a saint?
The saint knows
That the spiritual path
Is a sublime chess game with God
And that the Beloved
Has just made such a Fantastic Move
That the saint is now continually
Tripping over Joy
And bursting out in Laughter
And saying, “I Surrender!”
